Blue Lake Springs - Snowflake Lodge Area
The Fitz Inn is located just around the corner from the Blue Lake Springs Lodge recreation area, where you will find:

Guests of the Fitz Inn may use the Guest Pass to gain access to these amenities. The HOA does charge a per-person fee for non-owners/guests.
Blue Lake Springs - Fly-In Acres lake
About 1 mile around the bend from the Snowflake Lodge, you will find Fly-In Acres Lake, another Blue Lake Springs HOA amenity. Guest fees apply at this lake as well, but the daily fee is minimal.

The lake has a family-friendly beach area, BBQ pits and picnic tables surrounding the lake, and a sand volleyball court.
Around Arnold
Within a few short miles of The Fitz Inn are more family fun activities:
White Pines Lake - is a (free) public lake perfect for fishing or swimming, kayaking or
paddle-boarding, with beaches, picnic tables, a children’s playground and disc golf course.

For a fun break from the heat at White Pines Lake,
visit the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum is right next door.
And right up the hill from White Pines Lake is some of the Lower Sierras' best hiking and biking:

On Ebbett's Pass
If you want to venture a little way further from The Fitz Inn (and yet still within 30 minutes drive) you will find more fun to be had on Ebbett's Pass -- everything from golf and wine tasting to skiing (both water AND snow!)
